After a tremendously successful 2007 that saw the release of a #1 album and a world tour, Modest Mouse enter 2008 with quite a bit of plans.
First and foremost, according to guitarist Johnny Marr, the band will begin working on new material in February. Whether it will be a new, full-length album or just a new EP is currently unknown. However, it does not appear this planned work will not have to do with the rumored split with Built to Spill.
The band will also reportedly release a b-sides compilation sometime in 2008 as well.
While they currently have no upcoming tour dates, I’m sure you’ll be seeing them at a summer festival or two. In the meantime, a Modest Mouse cover band? Or check out Issac and Johnny’s all-time favorite albums and songs.
